Is Collaborative Learning Improve The Academic Performance...
What (do you intend to do?) I intend to research whether the concept of collaborative learning will promote learning and progress with SEN students, and whether the social interaction of learners will encourage cognitive development in special needs students to reach higher levels of thought than they would independently. I intend to focus and examine the following questions: 1. Does collaborative learning improve the classroom experience for SEN students? 2. Does collaborative learning improve the academic performance for SEN students? 3. How do SEN students perceive the value of social interaction on their learning? ââ¬ËCollaborative learning is an educational approach to teaching and learning that involves groups of learners working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Collaborative learning is based on the idea that learning is a naturally social act in which the participants talk among themselves. It is through the talk that learning occurs.ââ¬â¢ Collaborative learning allows learners to be actively involved and engaged in their own learning, rather than expected to simply absorb knowledge from being lectured by a teacher. The grouping of SEN learners with other learners in theory should encourage cognitive development, promote critical thinking and create increased interest.
